Language Exchanges

One of the biggest challenges in achieving fluency in a new language is finding opportunities to use the language outside of the classroom. Language exchanges can help with that. You can meet native speakers of another language who wish to learn English, and can then help them learn your language while they help you learn theirs.

InterPals Meet language partners and communicate via e-mail, message boards, and live chat.
Conversation Exchange Find and converse with others via e-mail, text, and voice chat.
Fluent Future Meet other members to learn languages for free, or pay rated teachers for individual lessons.
The Mixxer The Mixxer is a free educational site designed to connect language learners around the world so that everyone is both student and teacher. Requires Skype.
My Language Exchange Find a partner in the online community and practice your second language (any language) with a native speaker who is learning your language. Online practice is hosted with lesson plans, text chat rooms and more.
Shared Talk From Rosetta Stone. Find language partners and communicate via e-mail, group chat, and one-on-one chat.

123 Teach Me : Spanish Comprehensive online Spanish language resource, with lessons, games, quizzes, videos, worksheets, and over 70,000 audio files.
StudySpanish.com Free tutorials for Spanish pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and verb conjugation.
Learn-Spanish-Online Spanish lessons, exercises, short stories, and live chat. Many lessons and readings are accompanied by audio.
Lecturas Paso a Paso From Centro Virtual Cervantes. This all-Spanish site consists of a series of short stories with activities. For beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
Spanish: Espacios públicos From The Open University. Free 10-part online Spanish unit that is taken from Portales, a language course that concentrates on Spanish as a tool for communication, but also provides some insights into Hispanic societies and cultures through authentic printed and audio materials.
