How to Use Libby/OverDrive

Get the basics, and how to read literature, fiction and nonfiction eBooks from COM Library's OverDrive collection on your device.

Get Started

After you have set up your account and the OverDrive or Libby app, you can start from COM Library's OverDrive website you can find eBooks by searching, browsing by subjects or browsing by collections. You can also do this with the Overdrive or Libby apps. 

  1. Return to COM Library OverDrive home
  2. Browse by Subjects
  3. Browse by Collections
  4. Search all OverDrive eBooks
  5. Sign In/Access Your Account
  6. Browse for eBooks.

Special Features

  • If an eBook you want is unavailable, place it on hold to get an email when it is returned so you can check it out.
  • Make your own reading list by adding eBooks to your Wish list.
  • Read a sample chapter of an eBook online.
  • Many eBooks are available in multiple formats, generally Kindle, OverDrive and EPUB so you can choose to read in different apps or devices.

Top Tip

PrimaryOverDrive eBooks follow the one copy/one user model, so if an eBook is checked out you won't be able to access it until it is returned. You can place a hold on it and be notified as soon as it is returned so you can check it out.

The Project Gutenberg collection is open access and each eBook can have unlimited users.
