Surviving Coronapocalypse with Children

If you want to add some variety to your home activities, the list below has some wonderful FREE ideas - from video streaming to games and more. 

Your child's teachers and school will be in contact with you and are hard at work to instruct their students remotely. Check out the resources below if you want to supplement their lessons. 

Award-winning author Gail Jarrow, a former scientist and teacher, talks about pandemics and panic—and shows us how what's happening right now relates to US history. 

• Take a camera (or cellphone with camera) and go on a photo scavenger hunt (i.e. something red, something unusual that you see your reflection in, an animal, the biggest tree, the funniest thing, etc.)
• Cut letters, words, or pictures out of old magazines or newspapers and make a collage, mosaic image, colorwheel, etc.
• Make art using things found in nature. Try making different animals or letters out of leaves, flowers, and twigs, etc. 
• Use painters tape to make abstract geometric shapes on a fence or patio, and fill the spaces in with different colors of chalk, like stained glass.
