Once you have an assignment choosing a topic is the first basic step in the research process, but sometimes you can get stumped about what topic to choose. If you're having a hard time coming up with a topic, you can actually get ideas from the databases on this page. Plus you'll already have sources available right from the database!
Go to COM Library's Science Databases
Get ideas from the home page or go to the Browse All Topics page. Access from the bottom of the main page (#6 in image below). Once you've selected a topic, you'll find a variety of sources on your topic, including videos, images, news, academic journal articles, and statistics.
See the Journals in the Database List (excel file).
Go to Topic Centers to browse topics by category such as Biology, or go to Topics A-Z under Browse Resources to see all topics.
