Pro Israel and the United States share democratic values and together can advance freedom, peace, and stability in a region prone to repression and violence. Israel has the right to defend itself against extremist attacks and persevere as a safe haven for Jews around the globe. Anti-Zionism betrays undercurrents of anti-Semitism. |
Con Through its unblinking support of Israel, the United States has implicated itself in Israeli violence against and oppression of Palestinians, incurring the ill will of Arabs throughout the Middle East and undercutting its own moral authority in the region. The United States must halt military aid and push Israel to respect the human rights of Palestinians. |
