Each chapter covers a different range of years and tries to touch on ten main categories; general status & daily life, government & military, literature & visual arts, performing arts & entertainment, athletics & exploration, activism, business & industry, science & medicine, education & scholarship, and religion.
A Black Women's History of the United States shows the complicated history of Black women in America and the impact they had on forming the nation. The authors use the voices of enslaved women, freedwomen, and activists, just to name a few. The book shows how Black women had to overcome both racism and sexism to make their voices heard.
A History of Women in the World is a four-volume set covering women's history around the world. Volume one covers prehistory to the first millennium, focusing on Sumer, Egypt, India, China, Peru, Mexico, Greece, and Rome. Volume two focuses on women between feudal times and the French Revolution, from Europe to Japan. Volume three looks at the United States, Britain, and countries in Africa and focuses on how imperialism, industrialization, and capitalism affect women. Volume four looks at the female lead and focused on revolutions and social movements in the twentieth century.
