Calculators

Calculators can be checked out for 4 weeks by currently enrolled COM students pursuing degrees or certificates who do not have any current library holds, fines or overdue items.

College of the Mainland students who are currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program are eligible to checkout a laptop. 

1. Fill out the Library Device Agreement form.
2. Check your COM email for the confirmation info.
3. Grab your COM ID card and head to the library--you can't checkout without one!
4. Take your calculator home!

• Calculators check out for 4 weeks and MUST be returned by the due date. Students will have the opportunity to check out the returned calculator, if needed.
• Late graphing calculators are considered lost, preventing students from registering for classes in addition to being charged a replacement fee of $160 if not returned ($22 for scientific calculators). 
• Students with late calculators risk losing calculator privileges for the remainder of the semester.
• If the calculator is stolen while you have it checked out, you must notify library staff at the Circulation Desk immediately and file a theft report with the COM Campus Police.  
• Follow the COM Acceptable Use Policy (PDF).

Graphing calculators not returned on time, returned damaged, or not in good condition incur fees and holds on your account

• For TI-84 and TI-84 Plus CE:  replacement due to loss, theft or damage (including failure to return the calculator): $160.
• Damage includes, but is not limited to:  cracked screen and liquid or other physical damage that renders the calculator inoperable.
• For TI-84 Plus CE:  replacement of charger due to loss, theft or damage: $22.
