Ray Bradbury was an American author known for social criticism, and a keen awareness of the dangers of unchecked technology. His most famous work, Fahrenheit 451, is celebrated for its anti-censorship themes and defense of literature against the rise of electronic media. Other notable works include The Martian Chronicles, The Illustrated Man, and Something Wicked This Way Comes. Bradbury's contributions to literature earned him numerous awards, including the National Medal of Arts and a special citation from the Pulitzer Prize Board
