Exhalation by Ted Chiang is a collection of nine short stories and novellas. His stories fall into the genre of futuristic science fiction. This collection has a range of stories from questioning free will, the nature of memory, time travel, and the advancement of AI pets.
This is Paradise by Kristiana Kahakauwila is comprised of six short stories. All of the books are centered on Hawai'i and native Hawaiians. The stories explore the complex relations between people told from the perspectives of native Hawaiians. Some of these stories also explore the natives' connection with the tourism industry in their community and native land.
