Only currently enrolled COM students are allowed in the library at this time.
Use the South doors to enter the library; use the North doors (the doors with the with automatic door opener) to leave the library.
Both the main level and mezzanine in the library are open for students. 1 student per table except the tech workstations and whiteboard stations which can only take 2 students for social distancing.
Sanitation stations are available throughout the library. Students are responsible for sanitizing their study area before use.
Print books can still be checked out by students, but the process is different. The book stacks are marked with caution tape and will be off limits to browsing so they can be virus free. Students will use the catalog to place books on hold. Staff will get them from the shelves and hold them for students to pick up. A handout on placing holds is available in the library as well as online step by step instructions and a quick video that students can watch.
Books should be returned to the book drop in parking lot A by the student center or the book drop on the front of the LRC.
Returned books will be quarantined for 4 days. The quarantine status will show up in the library catalog, OneSearch. Students can still place those books on hold.
Library Things
Students can still check out items like anatomy models and library use only laptops, but there will be lag time in between use as they will have to be sanitized.
Nonessential items like games and puzzles will not be available.
