How to Use Academic Videos Online (AVON)

Access thousands of high quality academic, technical and archival streaming videos 24/7 on or off campus.

Share Videos

Link to Academic Videos Online videos so that they can be accessed on or off campus. The first step is to get a durable link. For most databases, the URL you see in your browser address bar is a temporary link that will not provide access to the article for other users. The durable link will provide on campus access.

On & Off Campus

In Academic Videos Online you can get a durable link for videos from the Share option below the video.

  • Use the Via permalink to provide a direct link that can be used on or off campus (users will login if off campus).
  • Use the embed code to embed the video on a web page such as in D2L (users will login if off campus). Note: the code will need to be dropped in using the source code view in D2L.
  • Use the Via Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) to provide a direct link that can be used on or off campus (users will not have login if off campus).
