Hello, I am your personal Virtual Librarian!
I'll be sending you a couple of announcements this semester that point you to some great resources for your course that can make your research and citation easier.
And that’s not all--I'm here to help you if you have any questions! So if you aren't quite sure how to use the resources I point out, or you aren't finding what you want, just let me know and I will make sure that you get what you need.
Meanwhile, here is some great stuff to know about the library.
Now you can ask for help with research and citations 24/7! If it is 2 in the morning and you need a source, head to COM Library and get started with Ask a Librarian! You will get help from real live people, and it's available from every COM Library page!
During library hours COM Library staff will still be answering chats, but when we close, one of our 24/7 librarians, real academic librarians working at colleges from around the world will hop online to help you out. They can help with all the same things that our library staff do, like helping you find scholarly articles, primary sources and grabbing citations. and just so you know, we never use AI or robots to help our students.
These are the hours that COM Library staff are available to help face to face or online, any other time you'll be getting help from one our great 24/7 librarians.
You can get the latest hours here.
The Looking for Help? image in the top right corner of all of your Virtual Librarian announcements is a direct link to our 24/7 Ask a Librarian chat box. If you need help, just click/tap it! You can also get a link and other ways to get help at the bottom of every Virtual Librarian announcement.
The library provides access to the college level resources that your instructors love! Tens of thousands of books and eBooks, hundreds of thousands of articles, streaming media and primary sources that can even help you cite your sources, we can show you how! Most are library use only, but you can scan chapters for free and send to your email, mobile, device, USB drive or cloud. It's super easy, we can show you how. See what's available by course and more about scanning.
